New Athletes To be considered for the Academy

The overarching aim of the Triathlon Scotland Performance Programme (TSPP) is to develop Scottish athletes capable of representing Great Britain.  The TSPP dovetails with the British Triathlon World Class Performance Programmes.  The first step on the pathway is the Scottish Academy and is aligned with the British Triathlon Athlete Development Framework and the British Triathlon Performance Pathway.
As a direct comparison, the [Scottish] Academy is the equivalent level to the Triathlon England Regional Academies.

For more information about the Triathlon Scotland Performance Programme

please see our dedicated page here.

As a result of the impact of COVID-19 and with no access to pools over the summer

it was felt that it would be unfair on athletes to ask them to trial as they normally would for the Academy during August.
The trials have therefore been moved to January 2021, with a provisional date 16th January.
For entry to the Academy, athletes must be a minimum of 14 years old and a maximum of 18 years old by 31 December 2020.
New Athletes To be considered for the Academy, athletes will be required to meet set criteria as detailed in the Academy Criteria 2020/21.
Please also refer to the points matrix, .

Athletes wishing to apply for the Academy (2020/21) must register their interest in applying for the Academy by 15 September 2020.  To do so simply complete this Google form.

There will then be 2-3 Academy access days during October – December 2020

which will be run in conjunction with the current Academy.  Dates for these will be sent out after the 15 September once Academy registration closes.
Athletes must then attend the trial day on 16 January 2021 (provisional date) after which the Academy will be selected.

The minimum standard for consideration for the Academy is 320 points
